REDTT's Annual Events for October

A good idea is to use the contact information before traveling in case of unforeseen changes. This calendar is updated annually as information is received. Key: Full Weekend means Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Weekend means Saturday and Sunday. All other days or dates are marked accordingly.

    • Mesilla Valley Maze
      Puzzle your way through New Mexico's first corn maze, established in 1999. This nine-acre corn maze twists and turns through a new design each year. Relax on a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin. Children and adults of all ages enjoy sliding down the Black Hole, an underground slide. For the little tikes, Papa Corn's Playground and the Trike Trail is the place to be. We also offer fresh roasted corn, cotton candy and a U-Pick Garden. Open weekends 11am-dusk.

    • Trinity Site Tours
      A National Historic Landmark, the Trinity site is open to the public on the first Saturday of April and October. The 51,500-acre "atomic bomb" testing landmark includes base camp, ground zero and the McDonald ranch house, where the plutonium core to the bomb was assembled. Visit these sites and a part of the original crater left by the explosion, revealing Trinitite, a greenish-colored glassy substance formed by the heat and pressure of the explosion. If you don't feel like caravaning in your own vehicle, inquire about getting in on a comfort ride in an air conditioned motor coach or van.

    • Sanctuary Zone: Stop the Violence Chili Cook-off Event
      All you can taste and judge of chili, silent auction, Gift Zones, Grab Bag Extravaganza and Candle light remembrance of victims of 2005. Event will be held at 903 N. 5th Street, across from the new court house. 2 to 6pm; $5 per person or a max of $20 per family.

    • Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

    • The Great Fall Chile Fiesta
      Street dance, red and green chile cooking and salsa making contests with cash prizes, kids activities and so much more. Held in downtown Grants at City Hall Park on N.
