    • The New Mexico Old Time Fiddlers Association Annual Fiesta Fiddle Contest
      Come join us for a wonderful weekend of fun and fiddling, food and dancing, and the laughter of children ringing through the valley. Friday: all day jam and dance at night. Fiddlers contest on Saturday and Sunday with a dance on Saturday night. All events happen at the Civic Center. Admission for each event is $3.

      A weekend celebration including a golf tournament, fiddlers contests, (see above) rodeo, parade, car show, baseball tournament, bowling, arts & crafts, vendors, live stage performances, street festival, dancing, kids activities and food! Join us all over town for this fun event.

    • Smokey Bear Days
      Arts & Crafts Marketplace, Licensed Smokey Bear Merchandise and Smokey Bear Memorabilia.
      Plenty of fun for children and fire prevention activities for all ages. Events include an arts, crafts and gifts marketplace, Smokey Bear memorabilia, food & drink vendors, chainsaw carving competition and an antique and custom car show. Free live entertainment will be provided at Smokey Bear Historical Park all day. Friday, noon to dusk and Saturday 10am-6pm with a free street dance at Smokey Bear Historical Park, Saturday, from 7-10pm.

    • Annual Party on the River and Fiesta del Rio
      Food, fun, music & more! Concert on Saturday by Erika Jo (National Star winner) and on Sunday, concerts by Roberto Pulido, Los Clasicos and Grupo Vida. Zoo demonstrations, running race, kiddie corral, lots of competitions. Shuttles from the Wool Bowl parking lot to the zoo. All proceeds stay in Roswell. All events are held at the Spring River Park and Zoo.

    • Wind Festival at Wildlife West Nature Park
      Features competitions for wind-powered devices, wind enhanced visual art, wind music, kite flying competitions, mass ascensions and workshops. Displays on wind and solar energy. Held at the Wildlife West Nature Center, 20 minutes east of Albuquerque. Sponsored by the Town of Edgewood. Wildlife West Nature Center has several annual bluegrass music festivals and don't miss the chuckwagon dinners and dancing every Saturday night from June 30th to September 1.     • Annual Las Cruces Tour of Gardens
      Self-guided tours of many fabulous gardens around the Las Cruces area. Begin in any garden and proceed in any order. The tour is presented by Mesilla Valley Garden, Desert Daubers, and Hi Hopes Garden Clubs of Las Cruces. The Las Cruces Master Gardeners from the Dona Ana County Cooperative Extension Office will be in the gardens to answer your questions about gardening. Pick up your maps/tickets at Enchanted Gardens, 413 W. Griggs Ave; Glen Cutter Jewelers, 2640 El Paseo; Ashley Furniture, 3861 N. Main St., White Sands Missile Range ITR office, or from local garden club members. Tickets are $7 each.Tours can be viewed in any order from 9am-4pm.

    • Starry Night in Lincoln
      Star gazing event in historic Lincoln with a presentation by NMSU astronomers, complete with star charts showing what planets you will see in the dark sky. High powered telescopes will be available for viewing, or bring your own! Hamburgers and Lamburgers available from 5-7:30pm at the Wortley Hotel. Starry Night program begins at approximately 8 pm inside the Lincoln Courthouse. $2 per person.

    • Mescal Roast and Mountain Spirit Dance
      Join us as Mescalero Apache adults and students, harvest the "mescal" plant, or agave, in the traditional way. Prayer ceremony, Mescal Pit Blessing and the placing of the Mescal in the roasting pit all starts on Thursday. Friday and Saturday events include Native arts and crafts for sale, interpretive round-table discussion and an Apache Feast dinner followed by Apache War Dancing. Finally, after dark, the amazing Dance of the Mountain Spirits is performed around a blazing bonfire. Sunday, the pit is reopened and everyone is invited to taste the roasted Mescal. This historical and legendary event is colorful and traditional. Learn more about the Mescalero Apaches and their traditions at this fine event. Held at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park.

    • Run for the Wall
      Run For The Wall is an annual event held to promote healing for Vietnam Veterans to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action and honoring those Killed in Action.
      The event is held at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park, located on County Rd. B-4, just off Hwy 64, 1/4 of a mile northeast of the blinking light in Angel Fire.     • Annual Chili Challenge Mountain Bike Races
      Mountain States Cup Series and New Mexico Off Road Mountain Bike Series, Cross Country, Downhill, Super D& 4X events at the incredible Angel Fire Resort.     • Fabulous Fiber Fest
      8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Put on by the Partners in Preservation for the Lincoln State Monument at the Lincoln State Monument Museum Visitor's Center. The event will focus on artists and producers who use natural fiber and other elements of nature to create their works. There will be live demonstrations including weaving and basket making. Museum admission price of $3.50 includes the event.
